About HFCA

About Us

The Hawaii Fire Chiefs Association (HFCA) was formed on August 25, 1978, to cultivate a closer fraternal fellowship among the several branches of fire service organizations throughout the State of Hawaii. The HFCA promotes development of the fire service through a progressive program of education, public relations, and research and serves as the recognized organization in areas affecting the safety of life and property.

Affiliation

The HFCA is affiliated with the Westen Fire Chiefs Association, Inc., a division of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC).

Membership

Members are divided into five categories:

  • Active Members - are full-time executive/chief officers or other equivalent title designations as may be used in the various fire service programs throughout the State of Hawaii.
  • Associate Members - are those who believe in and subscribe to the purpose of the HFCA.
  • Life Members - are any Active Member and Retired Executive officer who have rendered distinguished service to the HFCA.
  • Retired Executive Officer Members - shall be limited to former Active Members of the HFCA.
  • Honorary Members - shall be limted to those individuals voted by Active Members at the annual meeting to be deserving of this special recognition.

HFCA Administration

The HFCA includes executive/chief officers in the State of Hawaii consits of a Board of Directors.  It includes the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and five Directors.
